UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE

Chairs and sofa, bench and low table

Chairs and sofa with loose cushions and detachable bases designed for use in public spaces of contemporary architecture.

Some of the first architects to specify this furniture for the buildings they were designing were Paul Rudolph, the head of the school of architecture at Yale University, and Marcel Breuer from his office in New York.

Later versions of the original design included sofa and chair with down- and polyether filled cushions, just as other later versions were offered with detachable wooden bases.
